SBahn Band at the European Festival in Burnaby in May 26th
Posted in: Uncategorized | Comments (0)
Recently Richard Tyce, lead singer and former of the SBahn, has confirmed that he will be representing Germany at the European Festival in May. The SBahn will be playing at 8:05 pm, the very last performance of the day, at the Swangard Stadium in Central Park in Burnaby on Saturday, May 26th, 2012. Each country will have 20 minutes to showcase their countries traditional or modern music, with or without dancing. Tyce is working hard to get permission to sing a cover song that he has translated into English for a North American audience. He is hoping that the spectators will be active and participate in his routine by dancing and singing along.
Tickets to the festival can be purchased online at www.eurofestbcsociety.com. For those excited to see the SBahn, visitors can come early to visit the Beer Garden, eat delicious European cuisine, such as the typical German bratwurst provided by the Black Forest Deli and, spend time in the cultural tents and view performances by other countries. Anyone who wishes to spend the day there might also be interested in coming at lunchtime to see the Swiss yodelers at 12:35 noon. Families with children will be happy to see the bouncy castle, the mini golf or the children’s tent with activities for little ones. Children can fill out a “passport” by visiting all the cultural tents to get a stamp. They will then get a prize for each finished passport.
“We are excited that Tyce and the SBahn will be representing Germany” says Elke Porter, media consultant for the festival. ”It will give people a great reason to stay longer. And the SBahn doesn’t just play music, they provide an experience.”
Each year, the festival is proud to provide a marketplace for sellers of European goods and services, which will also have an area for sponsors. AhornTV, a weekly German television show on Omni, will be there as bronze sponsors to meet their audience, as well as “ record a 52-statement, a 60-second elevator pitch of yourself to be shown at the end of the AhornTV Show or on the European Festival website”. AhornTV (translated as “Maple TV”) will be filming the SBahn and their audience. If you would like to have your 15-minutes of fame, get your ticket today! For the price of $10, you could literally “spend the day in Europe” without jet lag or the inconvenience of overseas travel and see a modern German Band in the process. We look forward to meeting you!
